Saturday

Another morning spent at the Point of Ayre  a bit windy for mist netting so set the woosh net for Linnets
and then got a movement of Meadow Pipits so decided to go for them .

Linnets 5 new birds ringed bringing total to 206

In the afternoon went for a walk around local patch Port Lewaigue,  Nice to see a Red Brested Merganser 
in the bay also Razorbills, Redshank, Oystercatchers and Rock Pipits

Siskins

A morning in the garden again to windy for ringing anywhere else. 
Nice selection of Siskin caught with juveniles and Adults

Goldfinch Control

The weather has turned, the last 3 days have been gale-force winds, showers sunny spells. I managed to get the net open in the garden yesterday afternoon for 3 hours.

19 Birds caught

8 Siskin  7 new 1 retrap
(81 Siskin now ringed in and around garden}

2 Blue Tit
3 House Sparrow

1 Chaffinch

5 Goldfinch  4 new 1 control

I sent Kev the ring number of the control to see if it was one belonging to the group.
Kev came back with news of it being ringed on the Calf of Man by Chris Sharpe on the 15 April this year
movement of 26 miles north.

Totals from back in Wharfdale

Andy has sent me his totals so far for the swallow roost  and some other stuff.

Since i left he has gone from strength to strength
 TYPICAL!!!!!

My car had to got in for a service today in Ramsey so i left it at the garage and walked down to the harbour
armed with a few spring traps.
Stopped of for a full english  first, its the law 
3 More Rock Pipits ringed

numerous Herring Gull one of our darvic ones but to far off to read

Last 24 hours

Back at the point of Ayre yesterday thinking there would be some Meadow Pipit movement , not a lot going on at all 2 Meadow Pipits ringed and 3 Lapland Bunting see.

Back home for a tidy up and a cuppa opened 20ft net and ringed another 10 Siskin, Blue Tits, Coal Tits
and Goldfinch 
Siskin Total for garden now in the 70s

Yesterday evening back out with Kev another good 2 hours  with 
2 Dunlin
2 Ringed Plover  1 new 1 retrap from the night before 
1 Turnstone 
1 Oystercatcher

Today

I was out at 0630 today down at Port lewaigue , this week the weather so far has been great with hardly any wind . My Son and his Girlfriend have been visiting for a few days and i had to take them back to the airport at 1030 so i thought i would stay local and do a couple of hours. 23 birds ringed

This evening met Kev at the Point Of Ayre, another 22 Linnets caught no retraps at all on any day, so far
