New Site

I Got Permission to ring in the willows and scrub at Smeale so today went for a recce. 1 30ft net put up . Straight away i got a  Male Whitethroat and then 10 minutes later a Sedge Warbler looks like it could be a nice site when all the young are darting about.

Also this week  more Garden Ringing with another  Siskin  and all the Usual. Still can not get used to ringing Siskins in May  every time i see them on my feeder i smile

2 More Wheatear ringed up at the Point of Ayre at the start of the week.

lawn28Nice to see and ring the Sedge Warbler back in Halifax  you could get a Twitch going  for one of these

End of another Week

2 More Wheatears ringed this week at the point of Ayre bringing the total to 5 so far

Also some garden ringing with more Goldfinch, House SparrowGreenfinch, Robins and Coal Tits.

A Nice surprise on the Nyger feeders yesterday with 3 Redpoll and 3 Siskin feeding. It was to windy to put a net up and one of the Redpolls was already ringed Also in the Scotch Pines that run along my garden border there is a Rookery and Jackdaw nests . In the 20 ft net by the feeders i had a just fledged Jackdaw  the other day  and it was quite a character .
